Our 2018 Grenache bursts
out of the glass with aromas of ripe cherries, spice and leather. While its palette is rich and juicy, the wine
finishes with elegant fine-grained tannins. It’s both a lively and serious wine
at the same time.
Vineyards: Lee & Water Trough. Selection: Grenache; Entav 362, 513, 515; Syrah: Alban 1.
Blend: 90% Grenache, 10% Syrah. Production: 211 cases.
The Grenache and Syrah were individually destemmed and sorted and had quick fermentations. The Grenache saw a short maceration period while the Syrah was punched down by hand over three weeks. The Grenache was fermented in a stainless steel tank while the Syrah was fermented in concrete. Both varieties were put in 500L puncheons for aging. The wine was blended in late February of 2018 and bottled in November after a total of 12 months in the same puncheons.
