2019 Laughing Lands Merlot
Named in honor of the Coastal Miwok Native Americans who resided in the Carneros region. It is said the Miwok tribe referred to this area as “Talcoa”, which roughly translates to “Laughing Lands”. Originally planted in 1989, the vineyard is planted to 100% Merlot using the famous Three Palms selection. Laughing Lands is our most expressive Merlot from the estate. It produces wine with dark red fruit characteristics and a juicy, plump palate, making it one of the best expressions of Merlot in Napa Valley.
Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate: "bursts with juicy black plums, black cherries and mulberries scents, plus hints of star anise, dusty soil and cardamom. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a sturdy structure of grainy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long and savory."
